Old Man smoking weed

Recently we have felt a different reaction to citizens who chose to partake in smoking weed.  Since Obama has taken office much of legal punishment lashed out by the Bush administration has been reversed.  He has backed off on wasting taxpayers’ money pursuing people using legal medical marijuana and the people that grow for people in need. Smart move.  With the wider legal acceptance, people also feel freer to speak up about their own personal use of marijuana.  Baby boomers are in the forefront of this movement to publicize their use and to help show that smoking pot does not make you into a raging insane dreg of society as portrayed in refer madness.  The government’s most recent survey that use amongst people 50-59 has doubled to 10 percent in 2007.  Some of these users never stopped using them through their adult lives while others are people that took a break while raising their families and are now returning to smoking.  Baby boomers say they are evidence that smoking pot and leading a normal life and being responsible can go hand in hand.  I found a story about an 88 year old woman who discovered marijuana in her 50’s and is now a daily smoker.  She likes to relax and listen to music and believes it helps her creativity.  In addition – she says it helps her joint pain.
